origins of minna stoneware

Ceramic grater plates have existed in many different cultures and forms for hundreds, if not thousands of years. From Japanese Wasabi Graters to Iberian Garlic graters few have been designed to try and achieve a full range of functionality that suits the demands of the modern cook and kitchen. That's where we come in.
In 2009, a team of Finnish Ceramicists and Culinary experts set out to modernise this ancient technique. Working together, Merja Tammi, Minna Sola and Leon Ancker created the super versatile Anckeramic stoneware grater plate.
After many years of steady growth and success across Europe, an opportunity to expand into the UK and further Anglosphere led to the birth of minna stoneware. To pay homage to Minna Sola; the ceramicist who has been masterfully creating these amazing graters for well over a decade, we decided to name the company after her.
